Murat Önen präsentiert seine erste Einzelausstellung in NRW, nachdem er 2017 seinen Abschluss an der HBK Dresden machte und an die Kunstakademie Düsseldorf ging. Seine Sujets – männliche Figuren – entstehen durch einen vielschichtigen Aufbau und wiederholte Eingriffe in das Motiv. Aus konkreten Erfahrungen, die Murat Önen in seinen Sujets verarbeitet hat, findet man in dieser Ausstellung einen neuen Werkkomplex mit ausschließlich Figurationen, deren Motiv im intuitiven Prozess des Malens entstanden ist. Die Ausstellung ist Teil von *WELL am Ebertplatz, gefördert durch die Stiftung Kunstfonds, Neustart Kultur und das Kulturamt Köln.

Murat Önen presents his first solo exhibition in NRW after graduating from the HBK Dresden in 2017 and going to the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. His subjects – male figures – are created through a multi-layered structure and repeated interventions in the motif. From concrete experiences, which Murat Önen has processed in his subjects, one finds in this exhibition a new complex of works with exclusively figurations, whose motif was created in the intuitive process of painting. The exhibition is part of *WELL am Ebertplatz, supported by the Stiftung Kunstfonds, Neustart Kultur and the Kulturamt Köln.
