Community Cologne, Ebertplatz
African Futures Radio
live from Ebertplatz
presented by OLUZAYO – African Music Futures
OLUZAYO is a festival on the spot. And Festival On Air.
A festival for current, experimental and contemporary music from Africa.
As part of OLUZAYO, “African Futures Radio” will broadcast live with an audience every evening from June 1 to 4 from the “Gemeinde Köln” gallery on Ebertplatz.
From 9 p.m. to midnight, Yael Koutouan and Watraud Blischke present a thematically multi-layered program: A Listening Hour with works by musicians such as the Nigerian ambient artist Ibukun Sunday or the field recording collages of KMRU (Kenya) opens each of the evenings.
Live guests from the community, academia and the arts drop in for in-depth conversations. In between, curated playlists by artists* from the festival are presented.
“African Futures Radio” deepens the insights into different realities of life and discourses around sound and identity, art and tradition, memory and future perspectives.
Program:
21h-22h: Listening hour
22h-24h: Live broadcast with guests and playlists curated by artists of the festival
Live stream, June 1 – 4, 21h – 24h on www.oluzayo-festival.net
